Lund Rebel 1650 XL Sport

This is a high performing, yet affordable fishing boat. It starts around $22,000, but still gives you all the bells and whistles you want in a great fishing boat. You’ll get more than entry-level features at an entry-level price.  


The Lund Rebel 1650 XL is 16’7” with an 85” wide beam. It’s bigger than the Angler series but not as big as the other 2 boats we’ve reviewed. 

Quiet and Powerful Motor

The Lund Rebel comes with a few choices of motors. We are going to review the max power which is Mercury 90 HP 4 stroke. It’s one of the best motor’s on the market today. This Lund boat gets up to about 40 MPH. 

IPS Hull

Lund’s Signature IPS hull gives you more stability and less spray. It also has a power strike flat spot which feeds freshwater right to your prop. This helps add performance to your ride and gives better fuel efficiency. 

Easy To Clean Flooring

Vinyl flooring comes standard and fishermen appreciate how clean you can get a vinyl floor versus carpet. 

Huge Storage and Live Well Comes Standard

The Lund Baron is the largest boat we have reviewed in this article. It is 22’9” long with a 102” beam width. You can take up to 12 people out for a great day on the water. And this Lund boat has more bells and whistles than most fishing boats on the market. Our favorite is the optional built-in bimini or full cover to keep you from getting sunburned in the hot Arizona sun. 


IPS-2 Hull

The Lund Baron has an IPS-2 hull design. This double-plated hull makes your boat strong and stable. The freeboards are about 6 feet on the trailer. This makes them high enough to stay dry but low enough to get in and out of the boat easily. 

Motors

The Baron has a 400 HP max capacity and comes standard with a Mercury motor plus a 15 Pro Kicker. It has a stainless steel propeller and a huge 70 gallon fuel tank. 

Storage

There is a large front live well to store fish. All around the boat you will find large storage compartments with a water tight metal track. 


You get rod storage for up to 10 rods and a maximum length of 10 feet. Plus you can store rods along the sides of the boat. Plus, there is large gunnel storage and tons of floor storage. 



Cockpit

The Baron has 2 pilot chairs that have been upgraded to a very comfortable ride. It has a suspension seat which feels great when you’re out all day driving the boat. There are plenty of cup holders. 


It comes with 2 controls, one for the main motor and one for the kicker. The upgraded steering wheel, handy toggles and convenient controls give you what you need to Captain this boat.
